It is distinctive for a number of reasons: it is located on community land; it incorporates part of the Selinda Spillway and is surrounded on two sides by a high game fence - the so-called Buffalo Sence - and on the other two sides by the border with Caprivi and the Okavango.

The Spillway is a quite extraordinary feature.
It's a channel, a distributary of the Okavango Delta, over 130 km long, which, in times past, linked the Delta with the Lynianti River, taking water away from the former and delivering it to the latter.
